Default boosting my ride.

hey guys,

i'm thinking of boosting my car not to fly in it, but to get a bit more then what it has. At this current time the car includes a 3" turbo back exhaust, Apexi pod and a Hybrid FMIC. Now can someone help what is a cheap and safe way or do i have to go big $$$$$$$.

thanks guys.

$50 bleed valve can increase the boost. But I wouldnt go any more than another 1-2 psi on standard ECU because of boost cuts when you get spikes.

You can get a boost cut lifter that will wire into your MAP sensor and can raise your boost cut a couple of psi and help you run more boost, but if your going to increase boost ay more than 4psi over standard, I would recommend you get a good electronic boost controller, so that you dont get high boost spikes blowing up your engine.

The only proper way to do it is by ECU (replace, piggyback etc)...especially with FMIC...personally I would flog the FMIC and spend the money on ECU and waterspray...

ECU + 1... No question...

With the mods you have, im surprised you dont already have a boost controller as i would have thought you would be hitting boost cut...?

Honestly, i would, outside of cosmetic looks and after reading many threads, build your car around your ECU pretty much. That way, you can tune it fairly easy. I have been quoted $3200 for a Autronic installation + tune. There are WAY cheaper options out there like Power FC which is what i will most likley go for. However, $200 an hour roughly for a tune and will take about 4 hours as i have gathered.

yeap with these mods u can safely boost it up 3-5 psi.
with exhaust and pod, this gives ur turbo a bit of breathing space, not to mention u have the front mount to keep intake temp down.

avcr is $600 is delivered or greddy profec b 2 for about $430

other than that the ecu is a very expensive option imo. if ur planning on mild mods then go the ebc otherwise go ecu if u got more plans in the future.
