Default stock internals.

how much hp/Kw will the stock internals withhold in an ej207?

what are some VERY good quality aftermarket rods/heads?

how strong is the crank ? will that need replacing also?

cheers.

You cant get aftermarket heads, but you can modify your stock ones.

Crank is extremely strong, as is the stock rods/pistons. The V7 EJ207 i.e. MY01/02 has the forged pistons and rods, and is the strongest out of the lot. It is widely regarded that the early EJ207 with forged internals, is stronger than a motor with cheap aftermarket internals in it.

Stacey is running nearly 2.3 bar on his EJ207 motor, with no dramas. It also comes down to the right combo of parts and tuning, but he seems to have this spot on.

If you wanna go aftermarket pistons/rods, a no brainer would be Jap gear. HKS, JUN, Tomei, etc.

There is also some very good stuff that comes out of other countries i.e. Europe, USA, but you really need to know what your looking for, because there is also some shite gear coming from those places.

thanks joe.

the reason for my question is after talking to a couple of people they recommend i am to go internals before i upgrade to a "td05 20g". as the stock ones are getting towards there limit.
i just dont want something to break and cost me more than what it has to.

Tim is being soft - You don't need internals. You have a very strong motor from factory - Perhaps Tim doesn't realise they're forged internals?

TD05 will be totally 100% fine on an EJ207, as long as tune, etc, is up to scratch....because you can blow a motor on a TD04 if the tune is wrong!
