-1 bottle of Redline lightweight shcokproof
-3 bottle of redline 75w90ns

would be a super sweet mix... Anyone would try this...

Just had my car serviced at Melvilles and asked them to change gear box and diff oil out for synthetic, didn't think to ask which synth they use..... Picked up car and they have put redline LW shock proof in How long should I leave it in before I change it out? I don't want this shit gumming up in the gearbox! OK for 10000k / 6 months?
AL
PS or better to dump it now ........

All this hysteria about LWSP is getting a little out of hand. The pictures posted up show the gumming up but no mention of how long the oil had been in the gearbox or what type of use the gearbox saw (race car?) or previous oil history of the box. For all we know the oil could've been in the car for years or experienced extremely high oil temps or the previous type of oil could've been the culprit that gummed up.

I have personally used LWSP in my 5 speed box and I credit the non-destruction of it partially to the regular changes of oil. I now currently use LWSP in my 6 speed box.

I would recommend changing of gearbox oil (LWSP or not) annually. 6 monthly if you do any motorsport or drive the car very hard.

Add another beer to the list Jonno, missus will be driving it soon anyway and only about 10000k a year for her so I'll change it next year at 87000 km service (just did 75K service).
Cheers Al

it all depends on how you drive and if the oil heats up you will fund that the oil in the pic was left in for a long time or was not allowed to warm up ie alot of stop start driving. have seen it with other oils . just my 2 cents worth.
