What mods? If its stock all around you shouldn't need one. But if you have other mods and you want to push it harder, a pump would be on the cards.

For the ~$200 a fuel pump costs you, do it.

Sorry to HJ your thread mate but what's the consensus here....is a Verso ECU tune going to better than a piggy back tune (eg. Xede, Unichip), assuming the same tuner proficient in both methods?

Verso is a full re-tune of your stock computer. With the new age computers (MY01+) the interceptors like UniChip are not as effective IMHO.

Also, a Verso tune is $990 (iirc) and I am sure it's more for a UniChip, but don't quote me on that :P

I had MY06 STI tuned by Sean using Verso last night. My car is stock except for catback and k&n panel. No problem exp with stock fuel pump at all. If I did the dump pipe then I would likely do the fuel pump as well.

Are you planning on doing more mods to your car? I'm guessing you probably will, as you don't have many at the moment and will want to squeeze some more power out ..

Does this mean you're gonna be up for another $990.00 when you need to re-re-tune again for your extra mods? I'm doing everything in advance, and then the grande finale is the tune. All i've got left to to is my fuel pump.

So why don't you need a fuel pump with Verso and you have to with EcuTek?

Is it because Verso is custom tune straight of the bat but if you only get Tek 2 to begin with it is much safer to add the fuel pump as it hasn't been tuned just remapped?
