Buying a stock ECU
I'm buying a stock MY99 ECU to suit MY00, how can i be sure that no re-flashes have been done to it? Basically dont want to F#@k up my engine by putting an unknown ECU in. According to the seller it's a stock ecu but how would i know anyone??
Dyno i know but this way the mod will cost me heaps! |

There no real way to know for sure whether the ECU has been re-flashed. I know Ecutek does re-flashes for my99/00 ecus, but it is few and far between.
A lot of people with my99/00 get a PNP ecu like the Power FC as its comparable in price to a Ecutek re-flash, but PFC has better features and more people tune them. It would be very unlikely that your ECU has been re-flashed.

It would be vary rare indeed if you purchase a 99/00 WRX ECU locally and find it has been re-flashed.
No workshops in Perth do ECUTek reflashes for this model ECU. So unless the car has been shipped from over East or your buying from over East I would not worry. J
