Default MRT power kits

Hey folks,

Quick query, searched the forum with no result, so i'll ask away.

Has anyone had an MRT power up kit fitted to they're WRX? Or know of anyone who has? Just tryna sum up some options for when i purchase the WRX. Been told these are pretty sturdy kits with some decent driveable numbers being put out, just wondering if anyones had any experience with them and can advise of possible better options.

Cheers,
Blair

which particular kit were you interested in ? People in WA have pretty much cottoned on to the fact that MRT gear is generally well over priced. From what I have seen in pics the gear doesnt look to bad, but you can generally find what your looking at somewhere else for a lot less. MRT "We rally, you pay!"

That said, if you do research and believe what your paying is a deal and will suit your needs, go for it!we don't all have to be sheep.

Well i was really only keen on it for the fact that the kits are all done by the same people, so you would think all parts would be integrated and used for a reason, not just slapped on cos they sound cool. I guess the fact they've done so much R&R sets my mind at ease on a reliability front, but having said that, its people like the guys frequenting this forum that are doing the R&R for other products hands on. MRT was just a thought i spose.

for a NA engine, you'd be much better either spending $ on cosmetics and saving up for the turbo conversion, realistically the NA's dont have a lot of potential without maybe converting to a super2000 spec donk.

Have you guys fitted any other ready made "kits", or just gone for individual parts as you needed them? Its the whole reliability thing that im worried about. Just figured a kit would be the way to go in that respect.

I don't believe there is any other kits, the aussie scooby market is definitely a bit different to traditional US and V8 markets where people release "stage 1" and "stage 2" etc type kits. For a new wrx, an exhaust, intake, bigger intercooler and a tune will net you cheap gains that will make a massive smile appear on your face, and can be had for quite cheap. where you go from there, is really up to you.

1. exhaust - new
2. remove intake silencer/install elbow - new
3. STi top mount - 2nd hand
4. tune. depending on how far you plan on going either piggy/stand alone/reflash.
5. drop her ass!

$0.02

dont bother going MRT ... too far and a tad pricey!... they supply parts to Maximum motorsport in malaga.. so maybe go and see them... but definately shop around.. so much good bang for your buck these days... see the tuner thread?

Maximum Motorsport are dealer for MRT parts and can get MRT gear over here at a reasonable transport cost...in fact some MRT stuff is copied from Maximum Motorsport stuff. MMS have done R&D for MRT...eg re-designing in tank anti surge kits.
Occasional MRT stuff is reasonably priced, but you are better off sourcing exhausts etc locally...for example a MMS or RMS exhaust is better quality plus local workshops (MMS and RMS and others) can source Subaru and after market stuff cheaper than buying through MRT.

Research and compare...
