Well, he was the first person to be charged under the new legislation and if the cops made that same mistake with ANYone, they would be treated the same if they had a decent lawyer.
It's not so much who he is, but the pure fact that the police fucked up, which they've admitted to on national tv.

I say leave the poor guy and let him TRY and recover, all the media scrutiny is only gunna drive him further into it.

You know what I would feel sorry for him if he some remorse for what he's done. Yeah he's got a drug problem, but you want to get on the charlie/pills etc, do it in a club, at home, whereever, just don't get high as a kite then cruise round Northbridge at 12.30pm on a tuesday? Thats just stupid. And then the smile on his face when he was arrested and in court a few days later, he was loving the attention and the harm he has done to AFL and the Eagles was obviously not playing on his conscience. That said the Eagles are complicit in his drug problem, they need to take some responsibility for the state he is in now. They knew he was doing class A a long time ago, but he's their star player, why suspend him, why tell the media, brush it under the table... and this is the end result. The AFL need regular drug testing of players & coaching staff, any illegal substances 1 year ban, next time life ban.

I like how they use depression as a excuse why they are doing drugs.

Hah you aussie's are all fucked with drugs and getting off lightly, aka Shane Warne, Lets see, rules state that if caught with an illegal drug min 2 year ban, dw shane we will give you a one year ban cause mum gave ya the pills.
