Nah, can't justify the expense.

The games are just half re-hashed PS1/2 titles we've all played a dozen times before, the thing is uncomfortable to use for long periods (ergonomics are horrid..), the games are expensive, the UMD movies are more expensive than a normal DVD and contain fewer features and to actually do anything really cool with it, you need to hack the hell out of it

Er.. you're talking about using an earlier version and running old ROMS and divx flicks on it? That's the kind of thing I'd get one for, but at the $400 price point, it's a hard sell.

That's what we've got. Able to play all our GBA games, plus the new games, the touch screen works really well (although I wasn't sold on the idea until I had played with it for an hour) and the games are pretty original. There's a few remakes of N64 titles but the interface provides a lot of depth to them and the original titles are bloody great. Voice commands and actually "touching" the game sound pretty corny, but by buggery they work exceptionally well. Battery life is ultra hardcore too.

Yeah i got the DS aswell but you seen how many games have come out since that landed on the shelves???? Fark all.

Its like having a PS2 and having a xbox, some have better parts about it than others and different types of games.

The PSP is great as it also saves your MP3s so u can use similar to a ipod, can use it to display and flick thru your digi cam pics, save movies or shows to your memory card (providing you have one big enough) and the graphics of the games are MUCH MUCH better than DS.... trust me i compared them lastnight.Find hotspots to pick up and use other peoples internet, conect to online to download movies and games and play against other people on net etc aetc
Its definately got more than what the DS has thats for sure.

$400 is a lot, but then my DS was $200 and is definately half of what the PSP is. The games cost $10 more than DS games so i dunno about being heaps more expensive and the dvd's i've seen are the same as a standard dvd $27!

AWSOME!!!

I think they rock. Do you self a favour and get Wipeout for it. It's pretty amazing for a hand held and as usual for wipeout games, the interface and graphic design is top of the pops.

I'm kicking myself I didn't bring a few more back from Tokyo when I was there in July. Could have picked them up second hand for A$130 with a couple of games.

Still might get my mate to send a few over.

Depends what you're after, I have a big grunty PC for pretty graphics, I want my hand-held systems to have fun games, being able to push 30 million polygons a second isn't something they need to do

I'm hanging out for Advance Wars DS and Kirbys Canvas at the moment, both games only possible because of the control and screen system the DS has

I'm sure I'll eventually get a PSP, but only when it drops below the $200 mark and I can easily use homebrew apps and old ROMs on it.
