they all do the same job... if you want a good job you need to do it yourself nowdays from wat i have heard.. some places dont solder your wires together and do dodgy backyard installs..
from memory i think the boys at alberts are the best... either morley or myaree btw.. the search button is still working.. its not out of service... http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/showthre...stereo+install

DIY FTW! easy as to install a stereo, nothing very hard about it
a few years ago it was like $90 or $100 to install a deck and about $50 each pair of spearkers but like i said, that was a few years ago. if you want custom stuff done expect lots of $$$$$$ |

if your just doing deck, speakers, amps and wiring its a piece of piss. Altho, if you don't know what your doing, or where to start, then its a daunting challenge. I did mine from ground up 4 days after purchasing my car.. and when I was pulling my car to bits i often questioned was I positive I knew wtf I was doing. Turns out I do. Altho I got someone else to install my screen (I cbf doing it) and also to do my custom boot install, as woodwork is not my speciality. At least if you do it your self you:
a: get some satisfaction out of it when its done. b: save some kesh! c: have no one else to blame but uself if u fuck it up! I went thru 3 amps when I installed my stereo, coz something wouldn't work. In the end I found out that the previous 2 amps were faulty and it was nothing to do with my installing. Helps to have a good friendship with whom ever you bought ur gear from, for hassle free exchanges should something go wrong, nothing like driving around for a week with a half installed stereo, because u've had to order in a new set of speakers or crossover's etc. The installer at Audiocom Morley did my custom boot and screen install (he currently is working there) so I would recommend them for the install. It's not cheap tho. My install is worth about $1200 not including the $400 in cables. (thats just labour/dynamat/materials, not the actual stereo stuff) Last edited by ImPreSiV; 12-04-2007 at 04:04 PM. |
