So I have this hair brained idea that I want one of these.

I have spoken to a couple of dealerships and will go for a test drive this arvo

I am looking at a Manual in ugly green at the moment only because the deal seems right (probably has a lot to do with the colour). The colour will grow on me but if I had a choice I would get the red but the only one I have found is in an auto.

Anyway all of that aside, can anybody recommend a dealership/sales person, at the moment, I am going to check out lane ford and some dude named Paul.

If they give me a good enough trade on my car I will do the deal.

I am also thinking of checking out the GT-P but the massive torque of the F6 gets me excited.

Does anybody know if they have any problems which should be looked at or the prices that people are paying for the Leather manual model?

Dan, WADE off these forums works at Lanes as a mechanic... and Mat did get his XR6T for a great price... so speak to them first... I bought my STi from Lane's, apart from it being so fucken far away, they were ok. Don't trade ur car there tho, I got 3k more in a direct sale thru John Hughes.

Thanks for the tips guys, I told them exactly what I want on the trade, if they can't do it I will walk and keep the Mazda. After all it is only 14 months old with 25,000 on it.

heh, Dan. My car is same ages with roughly the same km's. Idiot trade in guy there come to me with a peice of paper from redbook.com.au and sed, "hmm.. redbook says up to $16400, your car has rims, so $1700, kthnxbai"

and i was like.. "WTFBBQ??!!!1!!"

Went to John Hughes, said how much u wanna buy my car for, straight up with out saying anything... "20k, leave the rims on, take the stereo out"

I said to the dude this morning, It is this amount for my car or I walk, so consult your principal, show him the offer, I will be in this arvo and if you can't do it I will leave. He was pretty cool with that, we all have to be happy with the deal and I really don't need a new car so they will have to give me exactly what I want and I will be happy to drive the car away.

Best thing is I have the cash to make the difference which puts me in a little bit of a better bargaining position.

In saying all of this, I haven't even sat in one so the Mazda still may be the better car. e.g sat nav, ipod connector, leather, low fuel bill.

If u can't get what u want via trade in, consider selling it to John Hughes, I have done mine over the phone basically, they saw my car once for 5 mins, but agreed to a deal over the phone and I am happy.
