Nothing wrong with getting a Frenchie for a daily driver. They're generally very safe cars if you do get into a bingle, handle ok, are economical and quite well equiped. Got a RenaultSport Clio for a daily driver. Other than a few dash rattles and squeaks from a 5 year old car, it's never let me down. Plus it's a fun car to drive when you're in the mood for a fast squirt.

Well, the lowest ranking 4 or 5 cars overall (reliabilty, satasfaction etc) in Britain for 2 years running....... are French cars.

Not a good sign IMO.

Besides, last Renault I was in felt cheap and nasty.

Dont; buy a golf, Volkswagon have the worst break down to car ratio in the world. I agree with the swift and you can even buy turbo upgrades etc for it later on... The swifts are a really good car to drive (it will shock you) and they are great fro what you get. Stick some big allys on it,spoiler etc and they look great.
