I'm really waiting for the wrong person to be labeled a 'hoon'. The media seem to love this word to describe everything from a modified car owner, to a street racer to someone who is a downright loser on the road.

A hoon in my opinion is a person who blatenly disregards the road rules and puts others in danger (tail gating, erratically switching lanes, combined with excessive speed). Accidentally chirp your wheels whilst learning to drive a manual car is not being a hoon, despite hoon laws being put on those people. What I find happening is people no longer believe police statements as too many peoples only contact with police is for their 9km over the speed limit fine/random pulling over for silly matters. This is not good since the police should be honest and trusted.

If people are racing at 200kmh on the wrong side of the road, then yes they are a hoon and should have the full penalties applied to them. Does crushing their cars do anything? I would think not, all that is going to breed is more people running from the police as who will want one of their most valuable objects destroyed?

Hmmm if they really want to crack down on it, then i reckon this might be an option. But if i take off, and accidently give it too much juice and my wheel spins a fraction (such as a r34gtr) because of either driving conditions or whatever, if that counts as a hoon strike, it's utter bullshit.

I supose you will then see those 3 cyl charades being bought out the quokka for $200 and raced on the street, just incase ;/

We are talking about 150KMPH on the wrong side of the road, racing someone else here guys, NOT bloody chirping your tyres at the lights, or exceeding the speed limit by 30-40KMPH. You are all missing the point!!

Hit the fucks hard if they want to street race in built up 60kmph Zone areas. DON'T give their cars back to them. If it makes them think just for a split second that they will never see their treasured modified car again then the point has been made.

If Darwin's evolutionary theorey did actually work these days these oxygen thieves should not have long on the planet. I'm surprised they were actually born in the first place.
