Flu should do it - got me a couple of days at home last week.

Can save a couple of snot laden tissues for you, then you won't have to fake the symptoms when you catch the real thing

Hemmoroids (sp?) or something were bleeding or something was what one of my guys used recently (i think it was true tho) and anything that involves the rear end will rarely get questioned. My response is generally "eeww, dont wanna know or hear about it! cya in a few days"

+1 Gastro nobody wants to hear the details...best if you actually call while sitting on the toilet (echo effect)

EDIT: also at my previous work i made up the story about being allergic etc. so anytime i felt like chucking a sickie....bang my bad allergy strikes again

EDIT 2: Also if you haven't had your wisdom teeth out yet...it will buy you a week at least. Note you can use the same excuse if you change jobs

I have used food poisoning a couple of times - but I set that up the day before by telling people that I'm going out for Thai or Indian for dinner haha!

Its the best excuse I reckon if you want just the day off.

Another good point. You gotta set it up. Like if your 100% fine one day and sick as the next, people will question you. So if you plan on having an illness, whinge about headaches, sore tummy, head etc the day before

If people here (and theres only 8 of us) are finding themselves needing a day break its better if they just be honest. Easy enough to work around and if your in a small business and look after staff, they will look after you
