Short answer: The 6280 is a later BB5 phone, and CANNOT be unlocked using a calculator. Only one person in the world (Dejan) has cracked the BB5 code, he is now a millionaire from his unlocking business.

Only the 1st wave of BB5 phones, which does not include the 6280, can now be unlocked using the calc and a cable.

The Nokia DCT3 & DCT4 phones (all earlier models than the BB5's) are easily unlocked using just a calc.

DON'T buy any calcs or "unlock codes" from any website or eBay. They won't work. The only solution is to go thru the service provider.

Remember also that after 3-5 attempts (varies from phone to phone) to enter an unlock code will result in the phone being locked out from accepting any more codes. Only a hardware solution with the service provider can unlock it from there.

Goto FoneEzy in the piccadilly arcade in the City.

Ask him to reflash and unlock the phone, it will remove all the 3 shit and stuff.

And I had a 6280 a few months back. And the slide fucked up royally. It wouldnt lock when i opened it so the top slide covered the first 3 numbers. If i wanted to use the top 3 numbers I would have to pull both ends of the phone and then try and call/type and shit. End of the day if its seems a bit dodgey, id go for another phone. If not, hopefully it lasts.

And that was only 1 of the problems.
