Yes I think Dan needs one of these.. to stop the calls during the day "hun.. are you in front of a computer.. can you google map this for me and tell me where to go"

although I spose investing in a street directory would be cheaper - they just dont look cool !

I grabbed a Tom Tom 910 off ebay for $470 last week. Best thing I ever bought. I can get a signal inside my house most of the time but really, why the hell would you want to anyway.

ROIDS, I just got one last week. I got the Garmin Nuvi 660. It was $100 off at Havery Normans. Cost about 1G but they took off $100. I would not have got it, but I had a choice of paying it off over 12 months interest free. I can pay it off when I like but just as long as I pay it off within 12 month otherwise they charge you a crazy +28% interest after that period. I've been playing around with it lately, I cant get lost with this thing, I got spun out when it took me to the drive-way of my mate. It comes with permanant dashboard neat attachement and also a windscreen attachment if you prefer the windscreen. Comes with a 12 month warranty but you can extend it for 3 years for an extra $50 or so. Package comes with the 2008 map of Australia. It covers every road down under. It is expensive, but anyways here is the link below for more information on the little gadget. So far I am happy with it. The good thing about this is you can detach it off your awesome car and take it with you if you go camping or travelling.

Good luck with search for your GPS.

I've got a road angel one. Good little unit. ( tends to make u turn right then do a u turn instead of a left a bit cos I thing the intersections don't quite line up with where the roads are )

Reality is though I hardly ever use it because it is just one more thing to make some KNUT decide they will smash a window. Even if not on display the suction cup mark tips them off it is probably in the glove box.

Mio DigiWalker C520 $465 from JB-Hi-Fi with some hard bargaining!!!

4.3" with the brightest split screen you can get. Brighter than Tom Tom XL.

Spoken Street names and very good GPS reception, even inside the house.
MP3 player, Photos, BlueTooth hands free connection with your phone that works a charm.

I've been through the entire GPS selection process recently and the DigiWalker winds hands down on price and features. Easy to use as well with good Maps.
Did i mention it comes with ALL accessories unlike some of the Tom Tom Units

Hands down the winner IMHO

Now I'm waiting for someone to integrate this unit into a double DIN in Car Stereo system and I'll jump on it

It is brilliant for getting you out of suburbs you dont normally go to. Once you are on the main roads u dont need it but it makes it piss easy to venture out into the southern suburbs ghetto's without heading down any blind alleys where the locals are gathered.

Just bought a Garmin Nuvi from Harvey norman last week. Very easy interface, status voice directions as well as voice guidence, bluetooth interface with the phone (handsfree) as well as the phone book and sms. Wife thinks its gold and i use it for work everyday, makes life easier, bluetooth is a great touch too.
