The thing i find really stupid about the logic here, to a certain extent anyway. Is that streets alongside schools are 40. But in Leeming theres 4-5 schools within a small area, as such come 3:00 the whole area is flooded with kids, not just the 40k zones around the schools...

Bridges. Build them, and get over it!

This is going to turn into another bitch and rant.

Laws are laws. Cops are cops. Consequences are consequences. If you miss a school zone, walk - You're too tired/distracted to be driving to start with.

I seriously don't see what anyone's issue is with slowing down at a school zone.

It's kids for crying out loud. I would not want hitting a kid in my car on my conscience.

As for pinging people just as the time starts, well thats pretty average and I'm sure a call to the station or police ombudsman would sort that out.

Personally since I don't have any kids yet (lucky for them!) I normally slow down to 40 before 7.30 in the morning or even after 4.30 in the evening if I am going past a school.

Way i see it, driving 10 km/h less, for about 200 meters will make an overall time difference of fuck all and far outweighs hitting children. But hey, thats just my logic

I got pinged in a school zone, I work at a school. It was about 7:50 in the morning and not a kid to be seen. I was in the wrong (doing about 56km/h), but I must say the signs were in a shit spot.
Flashing lights should be compulsory if they really want to make a difference, surely the money they have made out of the fines would pay for these by now?

There's a school near Leach Hwy/South St that has flashing lights and pretty colours. Now that is what they should do for schools.

Yeah the ones on Murdoch Drive really help me out since I have no idea about school times/holidays.
