Exactly or even if they don't have a mortgage or have a small one, like my parents, they'd have to sell our house to have that mill in cash to their name anyway.

Unless you're at retirement age why the heck would you want a mill in cash earning crap interest in a bank account, when you can invest the mill and grow it bigger?

and just having that much idle cash is temptation to simply blow it all on useless things

Currently 82% deductible debt. Working on the 18% but realizing gains means tax and loss of an income producing asset when I dont want to sell any. Been selling off shares to get it down - slowly slowly.

you are speaking from what you know, and making a million dollars in cash (in the bank) does not take long with the right investments

yeh advice here as well please??? i think if i had a million bucks in cash in my bank account, then i could safely assume I would be debt/mortgage free as well.. which in that case i would be on Perth-lambo.com, not perth-wrx haha!!!
