Car trashed in road rage attack

11th June 2008, 8:00 WST

A road rage incident led to the senseless destruction of a car and the owner fearing for his safety.

About 4.45am on February 24 near Perth’s Sheraton Hotel, a couple travelling in a blue Subaru Impreza were involved in a minor altercation with men travelling in a small red car, possibly a Daihatsu Charade.

The men chased the couple into the hotel carpark, left their vehicle and yelled obscenities and threats at the driver and his female companion.

Fearing for their safety, the couple fled the carpark, popping two of their car’s tyres on security spikes.

The couple parked on Adelaide Terrace and ran back into the Sheraton Hotel where they were staying.

The men allegedly found the Subaru and trashed it, causing about $15,000 worth of damage. Police were on the scene quickly and the offenders were identified by witnesses and arrested. If you saw the attack and have not given a statement, police urgently need to speak to you.

The best part is they were caught and will have to pay for the damages! Im pretty sure in these cases your insurance covers the damage and then forces the asswipes to pay.
