I'm sorry.. let me re-phrase this... The guy doesn't deserve to drive ANY car AT ALL.. and the fact that he's in a WRX is giving us more bad publicity.

If you want to drive your car over the speed limit head to the track..

I'm certainly not an elitist.. I don't understand what your point is??? If you're inferring that I'm an elitist because I like to obey the law you can fuck right off.. I've been driving since I was 15 and do 1000km a week, mostly for work. It's idiots like this guy that put MY life at risk and others on the road.

P.S I can't afford to lose my license for speeding.. so I try not to speed. (We all make mistakes) But this is clearly stupidity.

The council will then make recommendations to Police Minister Rob Johnson. Victoria, NSW, Queensland and South Australia ban probationary motorists from driving high-powered vehicles.
If you put two planks of wood together and said it was a computer, this guy would believe it!

Common sense would dictate that any long stretch of road, especially a highway/freeway, lack of traffic and pretty much any modern car would be capable of reaching those speeds.

I've heard stories from mates of mine who have thrashed hire cars whilst on work or holidays and from what they have told me even the smaller hatches are capable of these speeds, they just need a much longer run way to achieve them.

tl:dr version, limit the size of the engine or engine output and the same idiots will just need a longer bit of road to achieve those speeds.

But - Some guido and his 3 mates will look like absolute tools trying to rev the guts out of a Getz at 3am trying to get to 180km/h and probably wont bother. =)

Makes me sick though, specifically to the P Platers doing this in WRX's getting media attention - most of us had to earn ours and treat them with respect, its a shame when the minority ruin it for the majority.

Doing 180kmh means you dont respect your car?

How high is your horse?

FYI,

A Getz doing 180kmh - a photo I prepared earlier

Doesnt have to be about respect of the car - respect of the road and its other users perhaps?

And I am fully aware that the Getz does 180 - Perhaps you would like to re-read my post?
