I find that if you head down to dawsville cut and fish off the "Jolly frog jetty" at sunset you will allways get a good feed of whiting/herring/tailor.

Or if you are game, then try fish off the high bridge next to the jetty. You arnt really allowed but i havnt been busted yet

If you want crabs, you can just go to the mandurah or rockingham foreshore on a friday and saturday night, most of the chicks there will be more than happy to pass them on to you.

Yeh the cut is probably the best bet if you just want to catch smaller stuff

tims thicket, white hills etc are also very good. You'll need 4WD though (and the wrx wont cut it!) At Tims you can two wheel drive up to a point and then walk the rest of the way (not far) and fish inside the reef. Can get busy though

madora fires for big mulloway (15-22kg) if you plan your tides, winds, moon phases right!

if your chasing herring etc just sit on the rocks at the cut (if its a sea breeze fish the south side due to obvious reasons!), get a slow sinking berley cage (with a blue spotted white float in the middle) and run about 1.5m of light trace (say 4kg) and a small hook. Maggots work best but bit of prawn will do!
