i stopped buying phony, sorry sony after owning a couple of sony stereo systems, they were just crap & progressiving stopped working, tried to talk my mate out of getting a bravia to no avail he picked up a 46" w series on friday, we'll see how it goes, mines made in osaka japan - sony is made in malaysia, glad where my moneys in

and yeah totally agree, is telly is just a tool for being lazy or surfing the net doing this, not exactly blue chip investment

sony,lg,samsung all same panels. only thing different is the electronics, menu's etc. why would u buy an lcd when plasmas are so much better?

edit, yes sorry big call, it depends what you use it for, I personally can't watch sport or a fast paced action movie on lcd, yes even a high end one. I have done research on this (I used to sell them for a living). A Toshiba rep told me flat out that it is impossible to get a better response time that 6ms. The only reason they claim otherwise is by using a different measurement, to do with scales of grey rather than images. just my 2 1/2 cents.

id say the 8th gen lcd's that came out xmas 07 are finally good enough to bother owning.

neither lcd or plasma is good as a top crt, but they dont make them anymore.
