Shite.
They won't do an exhaust gas test. Your car is in pretty good condition so I doubt it would be dangerous or have any worn suspension components or leaks, or broken indicators, horn or headlights, or worn tyres, which they do check for straight away. What I'd be worried about if I were you: - Exhaust noise - Ride height - Tints - Unsecured components in the engine bay - Missing cat (from what I'm told, hollow ones normally pass fine, but you didn't hear that from me). If all thats in order, and your tint is ripped off before you go over, you may not have to go back a 2nd time unless they pick on something stupid |

ok, the ride height is adjustable so i'l raise it, thats no probs.
the only unsecured things in the engine bay are the HID ballasts - which are zip tied to some hoses. Do they check for the cat canister? coz all I have is straight pipes... My exhaust is quiet i think. What about the angle mount / HKS pod / front mount cooler pipes? |

Angle mount, pod and cooler are fine as long as its all secured and doesn't move too much when they try to wiggle them around (especially the pod!).
Make sure your HID ballasts are zip tied tightly so they don't move. What colour light do the globes emit? They'll ping you if they are anything other than white or yellowish white (blue is NOT okay). As for the Cat, I couldn't tell you. I went to the pits once and they knocked on my cat to see if it was hollow, whilst other times, they haven't even looked for it. |

OK i'l try my luck with the cat. what if they spot that i dont have one? do they fine me or send me back?
What if my yellow expires by the time i end up goin to the pits? |

if it expires before you go to the pits, then you can no longer drive your car, unless you are on your way to inspection.

I'd be putting a cat in just in case man!
Its a pretty hefty fine if you dont have one... What temp are your HID's? Was the tint the only thing they yellowed you for?? I thought they had to have 3 reasons?

Nah, they gave me 2 in Albany. Checked just regular stuff. Opened bonnet, had a squiz, scrapped into the height pit, parked up moving my wheels back and forth felt him hanging off my exhaust (hah), checked my pod was secure and all done. They couldnt of check too much i had the vaccum line to bov plugged cause tightening it all the way didnt help.
Yellow off, permits aquired.

Its bs, 8.15 am - not doing anything stupid - driving behind a 06 CG STi, and then fukn cao. youngish coppa too. |
