Default Hit and Run Penalties up.
Just heard on the news form midnight tonight leaving the sceen of an accident resulting in a fatality will result in up to a 20 year jail term and a minor injury accident up to 10 years.

Bout bloody time. Make some of these F^&*ing low life wankers on the road take some responsibility for their actions.

Now just have to get appropriate penalties for some of the scum sucking wankers that go out of their way to not fit in to a civilized society.

I've been warned of stories about being in the top end, If you hit a black fella, just keep driving to the police station to report it. As the stories go a black fella to jumps out in front of you, When you pull over to see if he's alright (although honestly you're more worried about your paint job) The other 10 jump out the bushes..

It is good that they increase the jail duration for some of these crimes. What bugs me is you can get a longer jail sentence for a traffic offense than some real crimes (rape/murder/burglary).

Nothing is worse than hearing some oxygen thief gets a few months for a terrible crime, yet a traffic offense carries a heavier penalty.
