There should be no loss in performance as such, but you will get a few false POP alerts which are annoying.

i think your asking if there will be any loss of performance if the POP setting is turned on. I think its "wasting" capabilities if u have it on, as the scanner is wasting its time looking for too many different "bands"

I PM'd Jezza (radar expert) about the settings i should use, and he told me to turn X band and POP off, and leave the XTR-690 on Highway mode all the time, for optimum performance..

"POP off" in the rev C Whistlers increases the Multanova detection.
It's whistler's version of "Euro mode"

You can check rev version by serial number. If (anyone) doesn't have a rev C model I think you can swap it from the Whistler dealer.
