I've never done a burnout either...wouldnt know how ....one day.

I am talking to a friend now he asked me to ask you guys if u can even do a burnout in a wrx. he was under impression wrx's were a locked 4 wheel drive and u couldnt spin the rears without front turning, or are they like the gtr and have elctronic torque split control and u can stop power been transferred to the front via switches or removing fuses?

Can't do standstills no, but you can do donuts, awesome donuts.
you can rip a nut in 2 carpark bays.
there are modifications you can do to the centre diff, such as welding it, or you can buy fixed centre diffs. both methods make only they back wheels spin.

yes but can a stock wrx do heli's in the dry..

without blowing the 5 speed or the centre diff?

Plus i'm a little confused.. is the centre diff an open type normal diff? if so surley you'd only spin the tyres with the least grip ie the fronts? and in that case being an open front diff on a wrx you could just spin one front? one wheel drive???????

yeah you can do a skid, with the right combination of savage driver, wide open space, speed and 55psi in the rear wheels i reckon you could get a stock wrx to wip a nut or two. with the right DCCD centre you can do a full on stand still, or mentioned above weld the centre diff.

the normal wrx is front wheel biased but there will always be a little bit of bind in the diff, thats why you shouldn't drive on a space saver.

skids moite

i got some 4-wheel smoke when i did motorkhanas a little while ago. Come in top of 1st gear, clutch in and hand brake, keep the revs pretty high whill skidding sideways then let out the clutch (not hard, just like a tame-launch kinda release) and the decent sideways momentum should leave your tyres struggling for grip and give you some nice spin. (i did this in a place like in the photo above).
That's the closest i've got to a burnout/heli in my near-stock MY00

Had just upgraded cooler zorst fuel pump tuned etc.. new rims with wide rubber.

First attempt at the 6000rpm clutch dump resulted in an almighty boom - it sheared the driveshaft.

1am lift home from Gerrin
