Dave did you mention you were taking the 135i for a test drive? If so how did you go. Very interested in your opinion.

Test drive is this weekend mate. The launch was at Autoclassic last night which I attended. Awesome event and amazing how much differently the bmw people do things compared to Subaru. I took pics of the black 135i and sat in it as well. Camera pics to be posted later this morning. The 135i is a sweet piece of equipment but to get the one I want means I wont take delivery until Jan 09

edit: crap phone camera pics but you get the idea

I'm going along with my old man on Saturday to test drive one (he's looking at an upgrade from an Evo, so it seems to be poaching a few Subi / Evo owners from what I can see), so hopefully I get a pedal as well. I saw a video on youtube from Best Motoring where they put it on the 1/4 mile against the new M3 and the 135i was quicker.

sales guy I dealt with last night said the same thing about the M3 vs 135i. the 135i has m badges on rims, door trim skuff plates, etc for what it is worth. I am wanting the bigger brake package and yes dare I risk flamage the recaro bmw performance seats. I am driving the 135i and 335i coupe manuals back to back.

Be very interested to hear your thoughts on those 2 back to back.

I fell in love with the CSL they have there but decided its too much for what it is, thinking about a used 335 now as there are a couple around.

no worries mate I am now scheduled to drive both next Thursday, stealership couldn't get both manual coupes for me to drive on Saturday. Apparently there aren't that many 6mt / 335i buyers?

My guy who handles my lease bought the white 135i coupe and takes delivery tomorrow (Sydney). He is going to give me some detailed feedback as well which I will share here.

What's the driveaway price for a 135i?

Just saw this in the upgrade package - "An innovative multifunction sports steering wheel finished in alcantara and leather includes an LED display on the steering wheel rim presenting various data such as the oil and coolant temperature, lateral and straight-ahead acceleration, the ideal point to shift gears, and the time of day."
