You will never get a quicker run up the freeway than when your sitting behind a patrol car. Its like a parting of the seas. Everyone gets the fuck out of the right lane (like they should be doing anyways!!!) and you get a smooth 110km/h run all the way. Yes, thats right, 110. You show me a cop that does the speed limit and i'll eat my own arse.

It would be interesting to see your perspective on Perth drivers.

Last year in the UK I was gobsmacked at the speeds people did on the motorways (bumper to bumper at 80mph), yet it was the norm, people overtook correctly, moved back into a slower lane (i.e. not hogging the right hand lane at 10km/hr under the speedlimit) etc etc.

In Perth expect random speed changes (i.e. one highway will have half a dozen speed changes), speed zones that do not match the road environment and drivers who are teaching you a lesson on road safety sitting in the right hand lane just under the speed limit and people overtaking you on both sides. Sort of like an ordered Rome

In saying that, Perth is pretty easy to drive around. Just look out for the speed signs, the multanovas, the hand held lasers, the undercover cops and you'll be fine.

make sure you get a sawn off shot gun, under your seat, as all wrx drivers can expect to be in a few shoot outs with the police. It's normal, and you're better off shooting first.

Its like the wild west / mad max out here

I wave when a hot chick flashes me.

Don't particularly like to see guys flashing me on the road

P.S. Flashing headlights = fines here. Cops got really anal about it a while back (people flashing to warn of on coming speed traps), so now they do you for having high beams on too close to another car.

Blair, police are allowed to exceed the speed limit on the freeway. If they did the same speed as everyone around them, technically, they would only see the same 5 or 6 cars around them. So they are given the "right" to drive slightly above the limit so they can look at other cars and drivers etc... looking for mobile phone users, non seatbelt wearers and those sorts of things, well at least they are supposed to be.

Im sure Officer Dan told us that a few years ago

I flash other wrx's on the road, and if i see a speed camera on the otherside of the road.. i usually always wave if someone lets me into traffic around the city n shit...

Funny that they don't employ the 'drive slightly slower than the limit so they can look at other cars and drivers etc..' would be the legal thing to do really.
