BP Ultimate Vs Caltex Vortex
Hey Guys
I was reading up on a small study conducted and the verdict was that Caltex Vortex was a better premium petrol in terms of Octane rating and economy gained out of each. Anyone want to elaborate on the use of Caltex Vortex and how they found it. I was under the impression that BP Ultimate was the Ducks Nuts! But it doesn't seem to be. Cheers, D |

Want to point out where you got the article?
I'm guessing it was written over east where they have vortex 98 available. Bp ultimate is the ducks nuts because thats the only 98 octane fuel available in wa. |

A colleague from work forwarded it to me.
Yeh I think it was conducted in the east. They used an STi for the testing. I will get a hold of and attach it to this thread tomorrow night. Yeh while at a Caltex servo today. I asked the question. What is the Octane rating of their Vortex. He said 97 but I thought he just didn't have a clue. But it obviously is. Cheers, D Last edited by Darken; 24-10-2005 at 08:33 PM. |

MRT Rally did it, and Vortex wasnt the best, some fuel called something like Better 98 was the best as it had a 10% Ethanol Blend and the 03/04/05 STI ran the best on it.
If I find the PDF I will post it. |
