Have to remember that is 299 in the US on a 2 year AT&T contract. There was never mention it was outright. Apple and AT&T are in bed so it was always assumed it was on a plan.

A lot of people thought it was 299 outright and made the mistake winging now. I knew all along it would be close to 1K for the 16GB, this of the features it has it is more thatn worth it. There would be no way in the world a phone like this would be 299 ouright just not possible.

I like 3G + the built in GPS should make it alot better + better battery etc etc. And with the overpriced comment how is $900 overpriced look at the n95 that is around the same and is nowhere near as good, even phones like my HTC touch is a POS and costs alot more.

it would be a sweet option if you another friend had a iphone 3g and you could send you location to him.

OR

since it has live tracking, two iphones could be paired so you could find each other easily in a crowded place, ie concert, royal show etc.
