how would I arrange those hard drives. Would I use one for system and storage and one for purely storage I'd would it be best to raid it. Don't know much about raid.

ive got a old WD 10k Raptor Drive as my OS drive then 4 250gb internal drives
with one for games, one for movies, one for music+pics and one for tv eps.
There no where near full but I have plenty of room.

Wrexter will get a quote done tomoz. When I go to work.

Cheers Phil

dont bother with 1066, only good for overclocking... its waste of money otherwise 800 is more than enough... 4gb kingston for $99 at netplus, im thinking of building prettymuch same machine as yours.. very good build

1066 is a waste of time.... the timings arent that great on 1066 yet anyways and not very stable.

650w psu will suffice for that setup.

as i said you are best of running a 2 x 640gb WD RAID and setup as many partitions within the raid. However, be aware if you run raid 0 and one of the drives were to fail you would loose all the data striped between both drives.

MCG has 750gig sata hdds for $94 each

and 4 gig ram in s x 2 gig sticks for $95

ok guys been going alot of research and have come up with the following, as always any suggestions are gladly appreciated.

things like case, cpu fan, audio, keyboard, mouse, i have gone for because of looks and funcionality. hope it will be a relatively quiet pc.

I have upgraded the ram from 800 to 1066 and added a cpu aftermarket cooler for future overclocking capability as i have heard the e8400 is good for that.

couple of questions?

1. am i overdoing the motherboard and is there a better/cheaper alternative (would like to crossfire in future so x38 or x48 would be good to keep)

2. is the graphic card alright or should i choose another manufacturer (i.e msi etc)

3. should i instead run 1 320GB drive for OS and a 750 GB drive for storage.

4. whats the difference between 16MB and 32 MB drives.

cheers.
