i will stick with the map directory.
Doesn't obstruct my view, maybe you need a pillow on your seat to see over it?
Im pretty sure you can adjust the volume if it really annoys you that much.

I reckon gps's are awesome. you dont need them while you are driving 90% of the time, but when you do, i think looking for street names and even missing turns is more annoying than listening to one give you directions.

I took my dads over to melbourne and sydney, was the best thing i did. had no hassles cruising Around

ive used a tomtom in my mums car. very easy to use.

but for something a little different. if you have a screen in your car you can buy a Garmin unit to plug in as a video input.

i have an Apline flip out screen and the garmin unit mounted under the seat. nicley hidden away and the garmin unit is very very easy to use.

Stupid things on the freeway - wifes one says keep right keep right all the time and then loosers actually stay in the right lane like it says.

Wife has Navman S80 - no problems with it apart from keep right

I dont have one - Mapbook FTW or look on whereis before you go unless travelling in a strange town.

I'm getting used to Garmin Mobile XT software, which has been hacked to work on my N95. Works great and its always in my pocket

Every other time though I use my Mio.

well i just went and bought one, i got the "NEW TomTom One 3.5/2008 GPS" pretty cheap at only $295!! there was the go one that was mentioned but that was like $800 and i cant justify spending that much on a gps unit.

the one i had before that got stolen was TomTom One V3 GPS unit and thats the model under so ill see how it all goes, thanks for the advice!!

I have a Navman S50 .. Had bugs initially with the first release, I am running the SP1 software now and it's rock solid reliable.

I got the S50 as it matches up pretty much perfectly with the GDB dash, being black/silver. Sit it in the right hand corner.

Don't use it very often, only when i need to do a drug-run at 3am and i have no idea where i am going.
