Picked up my new car today
Well it finally arrived. Picked up my Evo X MR today from paceway!!
Let me just say this thing a so much fun to drive. The SST box is so responsive and changes gears very fast. Sports mode keeps the revs up above 3k and downshifts perfectly as you break into corners etc. Super sport mode is crazy, I would definatley save it for the track! Only done 100kms so far taking her down to mandurah but loving it! I'll give her a good run down to bunbury tomorrow and take some pics! |
Congrats.... what colour paint did you get?
|
The Blue. Much likethe wrx blue. My old classic shape was that colour and it looks awesome in the evo
|
good work miggidy!
pics or it didnt happen :P |
haha will post some pics up tomorrow when there is some light again :)
|

yeah I like that blue. V similar to my 350z blue. The R32 I'm probably getting is blue too. Just looks awesome! |
Nice one mate, looking forward to seeing the pics.
Who can argue with your colour choice? Blue ftw everytime :D |
Nice work there!! I'm liking the way the front reminds me of a shark from side on. daaaaaa da. daaaaaaa da. dundundundundundundun :D
Let us know how the fuel economy or lack there of goes haha |
Nice car congrats!
Btw...how much drive-away and how long wait? |
Im very jealous atm, get these pics up so we can all drool... :D
|
congrats haven seen much Evo X on the streets
|
Nice one!!!
pics please... |
congrats! how much drive away? pics please
|
Also interested in Drive Away price, great choice. PICS asap!
|
Thanks guys, unfortunatley didn't gte home from work again until late. But tomorrow morning she gets a wash and some photos!!
So far I have been flogging the car and it uses LESS FUEL than my CX-7 about 12.1 according to the dash... so I should get 400km from this tank. Very easy to baby the car in normal mode and quickly swith up for some chopping action. It's pretty much running mutiple maps as the SST settings also change the rev limiter and boost S-Sport mode runs at 1.8 bar!! Anyway the DVD unit in it is quite good. Very well engineered... except it beeps when you reverse like a truck... it's driving me crazy. Car is a league of its own... and every dickhead in a commonwhore wants to play hero. But its fun to ignore them!! I must say it needs and exaust, not deep enough sounding atm. But a nice exaust will fix that up. the turbo is quite loud though and in supersport mode you get a lot of looks! Will post some pics tomorrow! Edit: Drive away rprice is pretty standard $80k for the MR. I did get some nice extras though. you will find nobody will discount the ar at the moment. and Second with the MR in WA I'm happy :) Cheers |
Finally got some pics... little dirty from the bunbury drive toh

Nice mate! Congratulations on the purchase looks good :). Any other future plans or just the exhaust for now?
|
Fuckin hot mate!! I've wanted one ever since they were released, seeing one in blue makes me want it even more! Next year hopefully :D
Out of interest, what was the price diff between the standard and the MR? |
80! faarrk :P enjoy it because its going to depreciate like a mo fo.
|
Can X's be Verso'd?
|
Hot..
|
Wow, thats expensive! But with the technology on it, fair enough!
Serious looking car, will look so much nicer when you lower it and some rims, are you planning to do that? |
Nice!!
Its like a wannabe wrx with that blue :p |
nice work!!
So is that RF sub standard? |
Yeah 80 is driveaway price. THink there is about 12k between base and MR. SST box is and extra 5K, performance pack is an extra 5k and then you may as well go the MR.
So appently there is a tune available that MRT do that brings the MR into line with the FQ360 from the UK. This will not void warranty. Get a nice TBE, CAI. Suspension and rims are okay for now. Might change the BBS rim for something nicer soon but the suspension is great, could go a bit lower but its setup so sweet I might wait to see what some other people do. A guy over east changed for coilovers and hates the ride now. Need to be carefull with the SST box. Its fucken awesome but not sure the power it can handle yet. Hopefully it can be built and then I'll look at some more serious mods. |
nice work!!
So is that RF sub standard?
Yeah the sub is standard, the system is impressive! very punchy! |
Nice!!
Its like a wannabe wrx with that blue :p
:D  |
Sweet, I'm so fkn envious!
|
Nice one! Congratulations. But, damn, $80k is a lot of money.
Enjoy. |
Did you wanna buy some EVO X number plates? White on black?
pm me if keen |
fuck thats some serious piece of machinery! nice car man

I am thinking about building a new targa car and am waiting to see how the evo x compares to the new sti over the next 6 months or so. Also wait for the spec c to be released and will see if they sort the wiring out. Pollard ran a evo x at targa this year with a bolt in cage and rumour was it had between 600 and 800 nm of torque  Be careful with the sst box though as my understanding is that it is unserviceable. I.e you can not even change the oil in it. I was talking to race torque about building the new car and they said whilst it is a great box for the road and a bit of trackwork if you are building a dedicated track car definately go the manual. And specs from Getrag who make the box i 490 nm soo If i can hit 200kw atw with 450Nm I will be happy! |
Looks great mate! Was suprised to see the big holes in the engine bay that ya can fit your hand in and touch the quarter panels skins tho. Just looked cheap.
|
Very interesting to see that a lot of the controls and the stereo/sub are the same as my 2007 Outlander VRX. I bet it goas a little quicker though!
|
80k for a lancer?
|
80k for a lancer?
Yeh this would want to do more than just drive itself! Can't justify 80k on a Mitsubishi, whether it does suk you off or not. Each to their own though. |
the evo isnt actually based on the lancer.
|
80k, fuck.
135i, no? |
the evo isnt actually based on the lancer.
What's it based on? |
