last night i was at the pub and me n couple mates were talkin to the chick behind the bar and sompthing came up about straws and then she began to tell us that if u drink beer from a straw u will get drunk faster???

has anyone heard of that before and if so is it true lol would be funny if it was true just think of all the guys out there drinking there beer from a straw :l

Yes I have heard this before too. Supposed to make the alcohol be absorbed into the blood stream quicker, hence drunk faster

Try a few flaming pickled brains through a straw - last time I did the next thing I remember was two coppers waking me up and saying are you alright, looked around and I was on a park bench. (clueless as to how I got there)

Pretty sure you don't actually get any more drunk ( for a given amount of drinks ) but you do get to that rather useless state quicker.

I'd say straws would allow you consume drinks faster than drinking from the glass, thats how you would get more drunk.
