i was out of fuel today and had a choice of either 100, 91 or e10...so the 100 won.

I asked this also on the other thread. According to united's website no wrx before 05 are suitable. Anyhow notice any difference?

Subaru say that any Subaru (except Diesels) can run on up to E10 blended fuel as long as the specified octane rating is maintained, (eg, 95RON for WRX, 98RON for STi). BUt the info in the bulletin only goes back to 08.
I found the 100RON E10 at my local United on Saturday, needless to say I put it straight in the Bug. Haven't really noticed a difference as yet. But I've only travelled 30 odd k's. LOng drive to work tomorrow, (moved from Wangara to Ossy Park Subaru) so we'll see how we go.

I want to retune and add a little bit of timing or boost, but then I'm thinking, what if I can't get 100RON cause I'm not near a United? Might just add a bit of timing and let the factory knock control deal with it.
jEstEr? likes this.

when shell sold the 100 ron in Syd there was only a handful of servo's that stocked it, and alot of the time they were sold out of it, so there was definently a demand for it

The United E10 is only 95RON (pretty sure it's 91 + ethanol). The P100 is the good stuff......

I'm not sure I'd tune for it specifically, the three times I've been there at 3 stations they were empty.

The economy should be negatively affected, ethanol contains less energy per litre than 98 RON fuel. Here is a good article comparing the fuels in terms of economy and emissions. A point of note is that if the E10 is significantly cheaper than the 98 RON it may save you money.

Fuel Test
