Thumbs down Xbox 360 RROD

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has had the RROD on their 360
and returned it to microsoft (Tele plan solutions) for repair.

If so what is the turn around time to get it back and have
you received your og 360 back or a refurbished unit with
different serial numbers.

My sister has sent hers off and we have heard so many differant
stories as to what happens.

Any info or experiances would be greatly appreciated.

Have not sent mine but my mates took 2 weeks. I just wrapped mine in a towel and over heated it, it works sometimes. I really need to send it back someday :\...

Send it back its free and the RROD warranty is only for 3yrs
from purchase date so do it before its too late.

Apparently they replace everything so you basically getting
one back with all new insides.

The towel trick only does more damage to the mobo.

mine is getting fixed at the moment. I posted it last monday and should be expecting it back within the coming week. They have just updated their software at there service centres and was informed that it might take a little longer than expected.

Same one back. Mine took about a week and a bit.

Hasnt missed a beat since.

Plus a free Xbox Live subscription for my trouble. Cant complain!

Same situation as Blair, didn't really take too long, got Xbox Live Gold subscription, comes back better than new. Even if it's an old one they extend the warranty for the rings of death...I'm pretty sure there is already a thread about this in Games section...

same, same...mine died a year ago. Took two weeks to come back, same serial number with new insides. Im a gaming nut so couldnt wait. My box died on a saturday night and i was at jbhifi on sunday morning to get the xbox 360 elite!!!

I've just sent mine off last week. According to the website its arrived and they're looking at it now.

Sent off 2 before and came back better then before. Hopefully the guys repairing it are kind enough to download the new interface so i dont have to :P
