Default A day with 3 Aston Martins (photoshoot)

Monday was one of the best days of my life, 9hrs of driving heaven pretending to be James Bond.

At 8am I went to Barbagallos (with 2 others from caradvice, thanks guys) to pick up 2009 variants of the Aston Martin DBS, DB9 and V8 Vantage Roadster. For the next 9hrs we drove these beasts around, swapping cars at each stop so we could get a taste for all of them.

First stop was a hangar out at the airport via the tunnel (NOISY!) for a photoshoot with a $30M private jet, amazing setting. After that we drove through Midland, Swan Valley and various surrounding areas.

At the end of the day I took Brett (EVL WRX) for a lap in the DBS and Blair (BN01) had a go in the V8 before we headed back to Barbs to give the cars back...sad time.

My quick driving impressions:

The DBS was just mind blowing, one of the best manuals I've driven and suprisingly easy, the sound, those monster brakes (395mm carbon ceramics). It did seem to lack a bit of low down grunt for a 510hp 6L V12, but it piled on speed like crazy! I was totally in love. One thing to note, need to clutch in to start it....just like Evos!

The V8 Vantage needed a manual 'box, the sports shift in it ruined the car - way too harsh on changes and jerky at low speed. One of the best sounding V8's out there though and very stiff/well sorted for a convertible especially.

The DB9 didn't do that much for me to be honest, although the auto was 100x better than the sports shift in the V8 it just didn't excite me all that much. The interior colour didn't help with making me enjoy where I was haha. Still an awesome cruiser though that would be perfect for a quiet drive down south.

Enough crap, pics:
