Retails boring as shit, specially a small store like that. Get out and get your hands busy, 10 hr days etc. I rekn if you got a car apply for laminex or something, Wespine will bend you over and insert its Non structural grade penis into your arse, and it will be a 240x45 6.0m
I work there.. weinig line is fucked, waco's 12 hr days but despatch is ok.. forklifts and shit.

try Workpac, they often have only short contracts but the pay is usually good and it gets you out there, you are employed by workpac contracted to other companies and if u do the right thing it probly wont take long to be offered something by the company ur contracted to thats perminent. Good luck!
Oh and Bunnings have just opened a new trade store, out in the LIA seperate from the retail store, try there they may have something pop up that utilises ur skills. Just spoke to my dad, he works at Bunnings, and has just told me they are always looking for people at the town store.

I'd have to assume the WA wine industry is the same as the rest of Oz. So if i was you, I suggest you look for Vintage work. Long hours, covered in wine (well, grape juice on it's way to becoming wine), but it's good work. I've spent many a year in wineries and doing vintages, and I love it. 12 hours, 6 days a week is always good for building the finances.

+1 for Bunnings there 'Scoob...
They go thru a LOT of staff (dunno if that's such a good thing ) so vacancies come up continuously... Edit: Just a thought... bit of inside info, the place where my son works is a roof truss & wall frame business located in Halifax called TimberCheck. The boss (Greg) is a really decent bloke, 2 or 3 guys are leaving at the end of the year to move into other jobs like Worsley, chasing the bigger $$.
