Default Vista issues?

Lately every time i restart windows, my firewall is turned off and i need to manually turn it back on.
Seems weird and it never used to do that before.

And secondly.
Google is playing games. Whenever i search something, it brings up results like usual, but if i click the link it takes me somewhere totally different. Kind of like a second search. I have to cut and paste the green address into my browser to actually go to where google found.
Is this an altered google, or has someone been tampering with my computer in someway?

Any clues would be great.

download Mozilla Firefox. Ever since I did that, I haven't had any problems with spyware. Trying to get rid of it will be tricky, using something like Ad Aware may work, or you might have to do some registry hacks. Google it and you'll find a solution.

What kind of internet protection have you got? Try something like Kaspersky that protects against virus, spam, spyware and malware?

you dont have any other firewalls running in the background do you, ie. zonealarm, having zonealarm running a firewall with windows firewall can conflict so zonealarm may be turning off the windows firewall

Nope, no aftermarket protection whatsoever.
I hate it.

Eh, it was due for a clean up anyway..
