Excuse my ignorance as i haven't done much research into the
kind of handgun disciplines, what is IPSC and ICORE?

Just wanted to start out with basic target shooting.

Any info would be great.

Ok, those two are "run & gun" types of pistol shooting. IPSC is usually with semi-auto pistol and ICORE is revolver shooting.

Shooting targets standing still is different again.

Let me know if you want some more info.

Cheers for that mate, run and gun would be fun but not
practical as my back is fkd.

That's the main reason why im looking at joining a gun club
as i can no longer do many physical sports like i used too.

i've been shooting a few times at the Lone Ranges in Belmont, got a casual membership there. maybe thats your better option if you just want to go out and shoot a stationary target a few times to see how you like it.

OK if you want static shooting then you could do Metallic Silhouette. It would still involve the same training saftey in order to qualify for a licence.

I can get more info from the guys at the club if you want or you can come up and go through a training session to see if you like it.

Yeah just like a back up battery, if one fails the second kicks in instantaneously.

Nah seriously just looking for a new hobby/sport with a bit of excitement as i cant do my skateboarding or kung fu training anymore

Will go check out Lone ranges Jester to see which handgun i like but the
quicker i get into my probationary period in a club the quicker i will have
my own firearm, not that theres a rush to get one just dont want to be
the club bitch for too long.

Thinking along the lines of a Glock but not sure which model.
