i thought you wanted a project car, not a fully restored car?
i would say have a look through the quokka and find something in need of restoration. then you can build it and restore it yourself - that way its done properly and you will know every aspect of your car.
i suggest an lc or lj torana, hg or hj monaro, xb falcon.... all go fairly cheap unrestored (less than 10 grand) but once restored you're looking at big bucks!
