Barbagello (Jacks Hillclimb), thanks for the offer mate it's all good. The Sanyo HD is amazing quality wise, did a test vid at 720p and it was very nice.

Shouldn't be a huge issue normally, its more the amps that kills something rather than the voltage. Does it smell? We all know electonric components are made of small devices that store smoke, did any of the smoke come out?

I remember you telling me this before. I use it quite often at work.
I have found that on certain things you can replace the smoke with duct tape or cable ties...

Used all the duct tape and cable ties to keep the EVO going on the Challenge, negative on the smell and smoke, I was almost tempted to reach for the screw driver set as I have done previously with an iphone but resisted as it turned into a paper weight.

Yeah 1 volt should not make that much of a difference at all assuming you were going through a transformer..... or straight to the camera most things can take a volt extra easy, manufactures have given up on putting diodes on power supplies these days... still 90% of faults i get are cabling, check your cables and power.

Tried to power it on but no go, tested battery and it is fine so assume there is something internal like a diode that has burnt out to protect the camera. I just didn't think 6V would have made that much difference for 10 seconds but hey shit happens.
