As sad as it is getting your car stolen, personally, I would rather leave my keys somewhere where they can easily find them, if they wanna take my car. I'd rather not be woken up by a belt to the head and being asked where my keys are. Hard to fight back after just waking up, and they have the element of suprise on their side, with me being asleep.

Just make sure your cars are properly insured.

Sorry to hear another car is gone, will keep eyes peeled whilst out and about.

Good point, although a lot of people on this forum would have brant codes so when they get in and realise they can't start it they'll prob come back rather angry.. Either that or they'll come back for another car.

Alarms with the GPS tracking are a bit more reasonable these days. If you have a decent car that you don't want stripped and sold off in parts never to be seen again its worth the outlay. Love to see these pieces of s**t caught.

This whole "broke into the house to get the keys" is a direct result of the
govts mandatory immobiliser laws. It forces theives to be more brazen in their
activities to get the keys for each car.

The spiral will continue with crims getting more and more brazen and
technology getting better. South Africa shows the ultimate in what
we have to look forward to. Car jacking in daylight where the thief
walks up and simply shoots the driver so they know the engine is
running, and the owner will not call the police or sat track system.

Until the law ACTUALLY sends a strong message down the line
it will continue to get worse and worse
