3G only has half the ram of a 3GS and a quarter of the ram of a 4, so performance has to be expected to be lower. Windows 7 with all the bells and whistles won't run on a old 486 computer the same as a brand new machine.

As far as im aware ( i have a 3gs so im not entirely sure) it will give you most the features on the 3G except for:

* Multitasking
* Custom wallpaper on home screen
* Bluetooth keyboard support
* Orientation lock as this feature requires background processing

You should be able to create folders dragging one icon on top of another, and creating folders. Also creating playlists on the iphone. Theres many more features as well.

Iphone 3G: 128MB RAM
Iphone 3GS: 256mb RAM
Iphone 4G : 512mb RAM

I figure this is the closest topic for the help I'm after. With the mail application on the iPhone (3Gs, with IOS4), is it possible to add bigpond accounts to it? I've tried adding my two accounts, but it just sits there searching for account.

you could try this. Any mail account should work with the iPhone.

Settings -> Mail -> Add Account -> Other Account -> Add Mail Account

Name xxx
Address xxx@bigpond.com
Password xxxx
Description Bigpond

Incoming Mail Server: mail.bigpond.com
Username: xxx@bigpond.com
Password

Outgoing Mail Server: (depends on your carrier / wifi connection
SSL: Off

^ It appears that when I try this smerm, the phone starts verifying, and just sits there for ages and nothing happens.
