Agreed Eric and hence why i said a "total" rethink is needed. I have yet to hear about an unsecured pod, screamer pipe, or angled exhaust being the cause of an accident as opposed to driving without lights and bald tyres.

However sadly will never happen, especially given the today's announcement that first hoon offences will now be a 28 day confiscation instead of 7, just another perfect example of narrow minded govertment , not interested in finding the cause but lining the pocket.

Blending in is the way to go mate. Wolf in sheeps clothing. Avoids yellow stickers and DPC (Direct Popo Contact).

After 25 years of driving I would agree with that.
All my own cars have been modified to some degree, some outside the limits of the law. Have never had a yellow sticker ever.

Have been done under the hoon law & various other speeding/driving offences, all duly deserved and paid the cost. Attitude (both yours and the cops) has a lot to do with it. I have been pulled over when clearly guilty of speeding only to be let off about 20 times. If you behave like an arsehole, then expect

No inspection = no rego = no insurance = your fukt.
I have stated this before, however...

I totally agree with yearly inspections over here. I have seen piles of shit drive around with rust hanging out, no brake lights etc etc...

I lived over east for over 15 years and when I moved over here I couldn't believe the standard of vehicles that drove on the roads here re: piles of rust.

The pink slip method works well and keeps rust buckets off the road. It is a small fee to pay, from memory $30/year for vehicles that are more than 3 years old.
