Alarm price is a little for what you are getting.
very basic system and only 4 pirs ? what about the rest of the rooms in the house ???
NX8 is only LED keypad and its nothing special.

yeah sorry Its high for what it is but at the same time is the average price going around and not anythign silly.

To give you an idea of what people charge.. As i work for the whole saler I actually sell to the people who come out and install it.
Couple guys who buy from me charge the following

simular to what u stated above but still better system
4 x pir
LEd keypad
8 zone system
siren/strobe combo
screamer
etc etc
2 x Keyfobs 4 button 5 function
generally installed for about $1200 ~ $1500

4 ~ 7 x pir
8/16 Zone system
LCD Keypad
all accessories sirens etc
Keyfobs x 2 4 button 5 function
$2500

10 ~ 15 Zones
8/16 Zone panel
LCD keypad
all accessories
Keyfobs x 2 4 buttons 5 function
$3500+ onwards

Thats just to give you an idea of geneeral prices in the market
so what you got quoted is normal . but I guess for me it seems bloody high for a basic small system.

other costs often not quoted are installation of a Power point for alarm
and sometimes Mode 3 socket for phone.

CEntral filters and adsl mods not included either.

Just to give you an indication what i have charged for cash jobs for min 10 zones $1500 ~ $2000 depending on the house.
small single story house generally around $1500
but yeah depends how old house is whats involved with cabling
how hard it is.

To be honest i dont do much of it lately to hard to strap a ladder to the roof of the Audi hahahaha.

What i dont understand is how companys can put 4 pirs in and say ok your covered. even 3 bedroom house.. that wont cover everything

lets say you have main enterance, lounge/living, bed1,2,3, study, hall ways covering bathrooms. Also Garage..

The average system I normally do for friends and family etc is 10 zones.
Generally give or take 10 is a good number which covers the whole house including garage with remote key fobs to arm and disarm the house when driving into house.

LCD Keypad system is capable of having 16 zones in total
every sensor is pet safe up to 25kg,
the system as standard is also capable of having swip card or pin code door access control. All built into the alarm just add readers .

very powerful system but still affordable and is very easy to use and can operate like a basic alarm if needed.

Why they have given you remote keyfobs when they only have given you 4 zones is a bit weird no need to remote disarm lol.

Hi guys

sorry to hijack thread but no point making a new one, its on topic..

can anyone tell me where the best place to buy Pet compatable PIR's to suit a DL250 Series Console?

currently have non-pet pirs in and am unable to use the alarm due to this (don't tell Cathy!)

Cheers

great info nvrenuf, thanks alot!

house is 4yrs old, the reasonfor the 2 remotes was its only single brick in our walk in pantry (where the control panel was to be located on the wall, so we thought of fitting the control unit near the front door/hallway.

We dont use the front door much so remotes would have been handy when using the shopper entrance from the garrage.

after the bloke left i thought, hang on we dont need double brick in the pantry to mount the control panel, the cable can run external to the wall inside the garrage.
so, since they are $250 i dont think i will bother with em.
good point about the gpo for the panel too, thanks again.
