Windows 7 install - help please
Hey guys,
Im just about to install windows 7 on my laptop: Specs are: core 2 duo 2.5GHz 2 gig ram 320 g hard drive. My question is, during install should i just create one partition for the operating system and data. or should i create one partition for install and programs, and then another partition for data etc. if so how much space should i allocate to each.. thanks heaps. |

so it doesnt increase performance to have two partitions?

Wont make a difference to performance as its still 1 physical HDD and not 2.
Have 2 partitions will allow re-installing windows again easier if you get a virus or spyware stuff it up, as you will have very little data to backup. |

viruses/spyware will still infect both partitions though. at the end of the day its still one physical drive. if it gets damaged/infected everything will still be at risk. just keep it all on one partition and have a usb hdd with regular backups.
