Default Nokia N95 8g Problem ???

In the last couple of days whenever I receive any sms, I don't receive any kind of notification. It just arrives in the inbox without any tone or even showing "1 message received" on the screen. The phone is less than 12 months old.

Any ideas anyone?

Dan.

do a manual reset. Take both battery and sim card out for about 5-10 minutes and put back in.

Mine does random things like that also. Usually a hard reset, instead of just turning it on and off, and clearing out of old texts and anything thats not needed fixes it

N95 8gb is an absolute winner of a phone.

Mine copped a farkin beating and kept coming back for more, and to top it off.. I installed Garmin XT GPS software with full USA maps (1.5gb in size!).

With a $12 eBay windscreen mount and cigarette lighter charger, it worked absolutely flawlessly for our 2 week USA road trip.. didn't get lost once and it even had all up-to-date points of interest, which made finding things like fuel, car washes and food while on the road REALLY easy!

Mine did the same thing as yours. Also decided to turn off randomly and would not turn back on. Mine was nearly 18 months old which is something of a record for me.

I just replaced it with a crackberry.
