ok so when it says 'unplug your tom tom from your PC', do they just mean take the SD card outta the card slot on my laptop? How else to you connect the tom tom to the pc?

6 pack for someone who does it for me I fail at doing these kinda things!

Also, is it better to get a new SD card, or do you just overwrite your current one? Im worried about loosing the data and then having a non working tom tom! Thats something I would manage to do.

I am going to get a new SD card as the one in my tom tom one is only like 160mb
I have been connecting mine to my computer via a USB cable.
Will let you know if I succeed Kym, and if I do I dont mind giving it a crack for ya.

All TomTom GPS units connect to the PC via USB cable.

This will then allow you to read/write to the SD card while its still in the TomTom.

Your way Kym will also work by placing the SD card into a card reader.

Copy the contents of the SD card into a folder so if things go wrong you have a backup.

The TomTom units load everything from the SD card.

Feel free to ask Question and I will do my best to get you all sorted.

I didn’t have a slot for a sd card on my tomtom , can only plug in to pc but it came up like I was plugging in a thumb drive so I just copied the info to that after deleting/backing up the other stuff on it.
then I had to turn it off and on again then plug it back in before I could do that autorunfile , but works fine now .... well so it seems , i will know when i use it next haha

Looks too easy to do, maybe thats how I fail at it.

1) Delete All Files from your TomTom SD Card. Done

2) Copy the Folder "COPY CONTENTS TO BLANK SD" to the SD card. Done

3) Open Folder "Easyusetools" Do I just open this from winzip or extract it to the tom tom?

4) Double Click "RunMeforAllAutomatic" Tried it a few different ways and it comes up with no meta.txt found

5) Unplug your TomTom from the PC. Done

6) Restart your TomTom. Attempted

7) Your TomTom should now be running Navcore 8.14 with 8.40 Australia Maps "Should" being the operative word. On power up the tom tom shows a pic of itself ejecting the SD card with a big red X through it
