Default Root Canal

Arghhh I hate teeth!

Just wondering who has had a root canal before?
  • How much did it cost?
  • How much did it hurt?
  • Was it worth it?

One of my molar teeth has a bad-ass hole in it down to the root. I visited the dentist and they gave me the options a) removal and b) root canal.
As it is a 'main chewing tooth' I was advised to do a root canal.

I need some opinions and feedback

Dr Phil says dentist are bad but bad teeth are worse. Get it done and enjoy pain free eating I say.

Jez I Had my right molar removed as I had cracked it badly. This was over 4 years ago now and it is fine. Takes a little to get use to but was wayyyyy cheaper.

Just get the funny gas and get it done properly.

I smashed all my front teeth out when I was younger, and so long as you are given the right numbing agents, its all good.

I had concious sedation last year to get all 4 wisdom teeth out at the same time, Panadene Forte for a few days after that. Wasn't bad at all, couldn't feel a thing, although nearly hip and shouldered a (hot) dental nurse through a wall because I lost my balance after swearing black and blue I could walk properly afterwards hahaha

I had mine done under local, didn't hurt at all and I fell asleep in the chair from being bored!
In all I would rather have all my teeth for as long as I can.

yeah had for of my wisom teeth out as well...whilst getting better and being bored i've calculated that if you brush your teeth twice a day for 2 minutes and have four less teeth to brush and live an average of 80 years you save yourself around 25 hours of tooth brushing in your lifetime! well worth the effort i reckon

Get the root canal done, if i recall correctly I was quoted about $500 to redo one of my front teeth my old dentist stuffed up (root canal did not got all the way to the tip of root so it's an infection risk) Don't you have health insurance coverage? my HBF covers 80% of cost plus one free check up, scale & clean per year.
