im going to wait for the next version rather than upgrading from my 3gs. Theres not much that the 4g will be able to do that the 3gs can't. Been running the beta version of the 4.0 OS for a month or so now, seems to be great. Most of the features that the 4g will have are just software.

Does it do a skid?

My original iPhone seems ancient now Just got a 3Gs for our work phone & it's heaps quicker. Be nice if Optus got 3G down here too.

I'll upgrade, but only because I have a 3G, if I had a 3GS it probably wouldn't be worth it.
Skype now works over 3g, which if they can also add video calling it would be much better than facetime!

I have a 3G. Don't have any major issues with it at the moment so I might just update to iOS 4 and wait and see what WindowsPhone 7 has to offer at the end of the year.

yeah. Im interested to see what the performance will be like though, i think the 3gs should handle OS 4.0 allright, not sure about the 3G.

+1

Im allowed to upgrade for free in September if i stay with optus.

Or i can pay a fee to upgrade as soon as iPhone 4 comes out.

Or pay a payout fee and swap to another carrier (Optus pisses me off, but i dont think any others are any better)

Guy at 3 shop told me they are getting 4g iphones in September.

As my phone is 3 years old think I'll look into it.

Do love my Sony Ericson W880 though - just bought it a new cover.

Golding: Just remember you can upgrade for free 3 months prior to you contract end date by going into a retailer and telling them you want to upgrade early. They generally call the provider and tell them that your threatening to leave which pressures them to give you a free upgrade.

Sleey: The iPhone 4 has video calling free over wi-fi for those users that have (iphone 4 to iphone 4)

SpotyDog: The guys that work at 3, optus, vodafone, telstra, virgin etc dont know anything about the iphone 4 and when they will be getting stock until they physically open up a order box and its full of iphone 4.0

smerm07: remember the iphone also boasts 40% larger battery, faster processor etc .. and yes most of the upgrades are software

exciting news for all apple fans
